Baby trend car seats refer to the use of child safety car seats that protect the child while traveling in a car. And infant car seat is the most preferred choice of parents with infants for a baby safety car seat. The seat is designed specifically for use for infants from 5 pounds to 20 pounds. It is obviously used rear facing in the car, as childcare specialists advice to keep your infants rear facing from their first ride home from the hospital up to at least one year of age and at least 20 pounds.
An infant car seat offers benefits that boost convenience and comfort for you and your child. The seats are normally lightweight fitted with a handle that enables you to transport your baby without disturbing him/her, often sleeping during the journey. Some infant car seats are with a separate base, which allows the parent to snap the seat easily in and out of the car.
Another type of baby car seats is the convertible seat. This is also used in the rear-facing position for infants, but can be converted to the forward-facing position for toddlers. However, they are most economical way to provide protection to your child as they can be used for longer periods as the child grows.
The main advantage of a convertible seat is that it can be used for both infants as well as toddlers. In fact, convertible seat is required when your child outgrows her /his infant seat. Whereas, the main disadvantage is that unlike infant seats, convertibles cannot be used as carriers and are not well suited with stroller systems.
As your child grows and weighs around 40 pounds, she /he may be moved out of a convertible car seat into a booster seat, which is made to accommodate children from 30 to 100 pounds. Booster seats will allow the child to see out the window and is intended to use your car's seat belts, but makes important adjustments to provide better fit and comfort. That induces your child to wear the seat belt properly.
According to the law implemented by many states, children older than four and/or weighing more than 40 pounds are required to be to be in a baby car safety seat.
