You will need a child safety car seat to secure your child's safety. Traveling in any vehicle has the risk of collision and injury to the passengers or even death. These days people take all necessary precautions to avoid such mishaps. A car seat belt is one such measure people take to reduce the impact of a collision and protect from injury and death. However, seat belts are meant for adults and grown up children only and it cannot suit infants. What they need instead is a child safety car seat.
But before we go into it, let us take a closer look at the impact of a collision of a speeding vehicle on human bodies. The impact of a collision with another vehicle or any other object a tree, or a wall will bring your car to a standstill. However, anything not held down inside your car will keep moving due to inertia. Obviously, this includes the passengers. Inertia is an object's tendency to keep moving until countered by something else.
When you are driving at a steady 50 miles per hour, your speed and the car's speed are equal. This makes you feel like you and the car are moving as a single unit. But, when car is abruptly stopped on the impact of a collision, your inertia and that of the car are totally independent. The force of the object you hit would stop the car suddenly, but your speed would remain the same. The consequences can be anything. Your face might hit the windshield, the steering wheel or the back of the seat in front of you. Or your ribcage might hit the dashboard. It is possible that you could even be thrown from the vehicle.
Now consider what happens to your body and how your internal organs react to this abrupt stop of the car. Your brain would be compressed towards the front of your skull, and your heart, lungs and kidneys could smash into each other or into bone. This underlines the importance of wearing seat belts. Seat belts are intended to hold you into the car and spread the ruthless force of the impact over the more flexible parts of your body. This will likely protect you from death or serious injuries to a greater extend.
This could possible if only your seat belt fit in correctly to your body. In the case of a child, you can't think about it, and seat belts are of no use. For a child, you have to use a specifically designed child safety car seat.
Basically there are three types of child safety car seats available in the market, such as rear-facing infant seats and convertible seats, forward-facing child seats and booster seats and backless boosters. These child safety car seats come in various sizes for children of different age groups.
